GDL was formed on 30 November 2015 by combining two former local landcare groups which covered the Jerrawa Creek and Blakney Creek/Biala catchments. The two founding groups recognised that their goals and needs were similar. The new organisation was able to secure funding to employ a part-time coordinator. This has not resulted in any lessening of the work load borne by community volunteers but it does mean that we are now able to do so much more than was possible previously. It is a huge advance and a great boon for our district.
